Most weather occurs in the lowest portion of the atmosphere, called the troposphere. The troposphere extends from Earth's surface up to an altitude of about 6 to 12 miles (10 to 19 kilometers). 1. Distance from the sun


2. Rotation speed of the earth on its axis.


3. Distribution of land and ocean on earth.
So many possibilities. In addition to the above, weather is also influenced by the amount of solar radiation absorbed and heat emitted, type of ground cover, be it water, bare land, ice/snow, dense vegetation. All these create an energy imbalance, and what we call weather (wind, clouds, storms, etc) is simply the processes used by the atmosphere to restore balance.
