What does it mean when you start to get your period while on active birth control pills?

I am in the middle of my active birth control pills and I haven't missed a day or skipped any days, but I am starting to get spotting while starting my 3rd week! What does this mean? I've been taking these pills for about a year now and I've never had a problem before. What do I do??What does it mean when you start to get your period while on active birth control pills?
You're having what they call ';breakthrough bleeding';. Your body is simply going to have a period, and regardless of BC pills...they are a hormone that you are putting into your body. The body-made hormones are stronger...just like when a girl is pregnant and tries to take BC pills to give herself a miscarriage. It won't work. The hormones are ineffiencient. I have had this happen to me...the breakthrough bleeding. Nothing to worry about. Stop taking your pills, have your period, and start up a new pack when your period is finished. What does it mean when you start to get your period while on active birth control pills?
its just breakthrough bleeding- its a common prob with pills- either ride it out or talk to ur gyno about it
