Just curious to know, for example you take the pill everyday and never miss but just not taking them at the exact time everyday. I read every where to take the pill at the same time everyday and I am just wondering what happens if you don't?What happens if you do not take your birth control pill at the same time everyday?
Honestly the risk for becoming pregnant is really not all that significant if you aren't taking it on time. The main reason they tell you to take it at the same time is for consistency and habit forming purposes. . . if you take it at the same time you will be less likely to forget a dose.
As long as you are taking it daily, you should be fine. People are a little too paranoid about the whole same-time-everyday thing. What happens if you do not take your birth control pill at the same time everyday?
If it's the regular pill, you have quite a bit of leeway. It's best to take it roughly at the same time (say, in the morning OR in the evening), but if you occassionally forget in the morning and take it at noon or 5 p.m. that's ok. You certainly don't have to time it to the minute.
If it's the mini-pill (progestin only) you have less margin for error, and taking it more than an hour or so late can put you at risk for pregnancy.
They say to take it at the same time every day but I never did... if you take it when you remember th en you should be fine... I was on the pill for 8 years and took it everyday at whatever time of day I remembered to take it...
But I might not be the best for advice on this since I am 13 weeks pregnant now %26amp; was still taking birth control that way which some people can say is b/c I didn't take it at the same time every day... but I'm not so sure about that haha
This answer would depend on which one you forgot to take. The active pills may not be as effective in preventing pregnancy if you miss the first few or last few pills in a pack. If you miss the reminder pills there's no need to worry because this is when you get your period, although for peace of mind, don't be afraid to use a back up method like a condom.
Depends how late it is - it's best if it's the same time every day - but on the combined pill you can be up to 12 hours late - I don't know what would happen if you were always 12 hours late but a few times is fine and a couple of hours off is probably okay.

Taking the pill at the same time every day keeps your hormones at the same consistent level. If you are late you'll have a dip in your hormones and if you are early you'll have a rise in the hormones. The pill is most effective when there is a steady hormone level with little dips and peaks.
The pill is designed to last in your system for 24 hours. By taking it at the same time every day, you are keeping the levels constant. By changing the time it is taken, you are making the hormone levels inconsistent, raising your chances of becoming pregnant.
nothing, as long as it's taken everyday it's still just as effective...
its meant to keep the hormone level consistent, however, being off by a few hours is not in any way harmful nor will it get you pregnant, I posed this same question to my own OB/GYN
i dont take my pill at the same time and nothings happened to me!!
sometimes i take mine at 10 sometimes at 12 sometimes at 5 lol.
I believe it is not as effective if you don't take them at the same time everyday.
Semen has a better chance of finding your precious hiding egg.
If you don't take the pill at the same time everyday then you may release an egg, aka. potential to get pregnant
if you don't take it at the same time everyday, then you might as well not bother taking them
