What form of birth control do you plan on using?

Once your baby is born, what form of birth control do you plan on using?

I was sure I'd just go back on the pill but if there is something more effective %26amp; less regular then I'd like to consider it. I'd also like to know all of my options before I discuss it with my doctor. What form of birth control do you plan on using?
I'll be breastfeeding and I've been told by a lactation consultant that hormonal birth control can affect your milk supply! I didn't know this, I was geared to go back on the pill...but now looks like condoms for us if I want to breastfeed.

Of course, if something happens where I won't end up nursing, it'll be the pill for me! That's my top choice!

EDIT: If you yourself won't be breastfeeding then there isn't anything stopping you from hormonal birth control. I really wish I could just go back on the pill, too!

Other temporary options, of course, include Norplant, the patch, hormonal shots...or you could use a barrier method such as a diaphragm. I'm not too keen on that one myself...What form of birth control do you plan on using?
I have terrible hormonal conditions and have trouble getting pregnant on my own. That's actually how I got pregnant now but we were having regular unprotected sex for 2 solid years. Doctors told me I would be unable to conceive without medical intervention. I have PCOS, progesterone deficiency,(was supposed to have blocked fallopian tubes), amenorrhea, and annovulation.

I do not have periods in fact I hadn't had one in over a year when I got pregnant in January of this year. I would have never known I was pregnant if it weren't for some mood swings, REALLY sore nipples and a suspicious husband who was insistent that I take a test. I really thought I was my own form of birth control!

I DO NOT want to do anything hormonal like BC pills etc.

I DO NOT want to use condoms. We are married and they are not for us especially after getting used to not using anything for two years.

I DO NOT want an IUD as they are against my religious beliefs.

I think we may use the contraceptive foam at least we are going to try. I just hope it doesn't give me a yeast infection.

If not it will be natural family planning or the pullout method. If I get pregnant again so be it.. :)
none after this baby but when I have another then I will get my tubes tied

lets see forms of birth control

pill

nuva ring (plastic ring that is inserted into your vagina) you trade out rings every month or so

IUD. another vaginally inserted device that is good for 5 yrs and removable by a doctor when ever you choose

Depo aka the shot (did it, hated it) i believe you get this every 6 mos

condoms

and for more permanent stuff you could get your tubes tied after you deliver or your husband could get a vasectomy
Hiya, i had the implant in be for i had it took out so me and my hubby could try for a baby, after i have had the baby i will be getting a one put back in. goes in your arm and its there for 3years and you don't have to think about it, if you wanted to try for a baby you can get it took out any time and your fertility goes back to normal with in days.

Hope this helps.

Expecting first baby XxX
I'll be the hippie answerer... I'm going to use the same type I used for awhile before I got pregnant - charting my basal body temperature. No pills, no hormones, no hassle. It's actually much easier than taking a pill every day. If you're interested, you can read 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility'
Have you ever thought of natural family planning? That's what I use. I am not the greatest with charting temps but I have learned how to understand my body! It might be worth looking into... www.fertilityfriend.com helps you to conceive well... if you follow it to help you avoid just as good as bc...I very loosly follow nfp and have not gotten pregnant in 11months (since i've started using it)!
I am currently using Mirena. Its an IUD. It is a bit painful to get it inserted and you have occasional pain every now and then and a few cysts, but its 5 years of being worry free. And now my periods only last for a day or so.
I had thought about this recently 2! Big day is right around the corner from us!!! I plan to go on Seasonique. The one where you only get your period 4 times a year! When I have a period its so bad so I would just assume skip it!!! I am also interested in the patch tho!!! %26lt;3
I REALLY don't want to be on the pill for the next 10 or 15 years of my life. Right now we are considering an IUD or a vasectomy for my husband. We have two kids and don't plan on any more.
i highly recommend MIRENA (IUD)...

if you get it inserted soon after giving birth it wont even hurt cause your insides still arent all that tight (take it from the biggest whimp - me).

google it and see if its something youre interested in.
The ring or 'Nuva ring' its awsome. wear it 3wks take it out for 1wk. None of the side effects of the pill (at least not for me). And my periods last like 3 days.
Me and my bf decided to just use condoms. %26amp; spermicide lube. I'm scared to use birth control, cause of all the weird side effects. I may change my mind though.
I wish I could do the IUD but I medically can't : (

I'm actually getting my tubes tied this c-section, my second.

But normally I'd say try the patch (once a week).
Im going to have the implant that goes in your arm. Like the pill but lasts for 3-5 years and once out your fertility goes back to normal fairly quickly.
Family planning...I'm allergic to latex...and hate the idea of all the chemicals in the pill - there is a new scary report on all the bad stuff like every other day.
Copper IUD for the next 5+ years lol

There are a lot, but make sure you ask your doctor if it will interfer with breastfeeding if you do plan on breastfeeding. Good luck!
we just use condoms -- they're inexpensive, don't mess with my body (the pill made me sick and gave me mad yeast infections), and they've worked now for 2 years
Condoms.
proabably the timing method b/c i feel like the pill really messed my body up in the past
